The Freemount
The Kings, previously a traditional Tetley's pub, underwent a transformation several years ago and was rebranded as the Northern, an evening bar. During this period, the establishment did not serve real ale. The Northern has since been redeveloped and renamed as the Freemount. For a time, Freemount offered cask ale to its patrons, but this option has recently been discontinued. The entrance on Oldham Street, which was closed during the Northern era, has been reopened under the Freemount's management. However, patrons also have the option of using a second rear entrance on Tib Street. The Freemount is known for its lively atmosphere, often featuring live music performances during weekend evenings.
