The Carpenters Arms
The Top House, a traditional pub dating back to the 1900s, is a beloved local establishment situated on the village green. After a temporary closure, the pub was reopened in December 2013, boasting a complete refurbishment and redecoration. The bar area now serves two spacious, carpeted rooms, one of which features a cozy real fire. A third room at the back houses a pool table for patrons to enjoy. The Top House is known for its lively entertainment, hosting a karaoke night on the last Saturday of each month. During the summer months, the pub opens its doors at noon every day, welcoming locals and visitors alike. In June 2018, the pub underwent another refurbishment. Today, it proudly offers three real ales, typically sourced from small, local breweries. This charming pub seamlessly blends tradition with modern comforts, making it a must-visit spot in the village.
