Newtons Free House
The pub, originally named 'Heavitree', was purpose-built in the 1930s and was under the ownership of the same-named brewery until 2009. It is now privately owned and located just on the outskirts of the town centre. The pub is known for its welcoming atmosphere and community-oriented approach. Although it doesn't offer real ale on tap, it does provide a selection of bottled ales for patrons to enjoy. The pub features a single bar area, complemented by a few cozy 'snugs' for a more intimate setting. It also boasts an open kitchen, which is well-known for serving delicious and reasonably priced meals. Among the popular offerings is the Sunday roast, which has earned a reputation for its quality and value.
