Situated on the verdant expanse of Lower Wolvercote, a stone's throw away from the historical Godstow nunnery ruins, is a spacious pub that offers more than just a place to enjoy a pint. This establishment boasts a beautifully maintained mature garden, complete with a designated area for children to play. However, it's worth noting that the resident pygmy goats have since moved on. Inside, the pub offers ample dining space, further enhanced by a sizeable conservatory that adds to its charm. For a decade, this venue was successfully operated as a gastropub by Jacob's & Field. Unfortunately, due to disagreements over lease renewal, the management has recently changed as of June 2023. The new management is committed to maintaining the high standards set by its predecessors. They have already begun serving breakfast from 9am and are looking forward to extending their food service hours in the near future. This pub, with its rich history and promising future, continues to be a welcoming spot for locals and visitors alike.
