Friary

The building, which was formerly Martins Bank, boasts an impressive interwar art deco exterior. It was transformed into a pub known as 'the BANK' by Ansells. In 1999, it was acquired by Bass and renamed as 'the GOOSE'. In 2001, the building underwent a comprehensive refurbishment and expansion, incorporating the adjacent shop. The establishment was given its current name by Stonegate in 2012. The interior is spacious and open-plan, featuring numerous televisions for sports enthusiasts. However, there are also areas within the bar that are out of the televisions' range for those who prefer a quieter atmosphere. The bar offers a variety of good-value food throughout the day.
