Bartons Arms

This exquisite example of Victorian pub architecture, constructed in 1901, stands as one of the most aesthetically pleasing pub interiors in the nation. The project, which cost approximately £12,000, was built on the location of a previous pub that was bought for £10,000 and subsequently demolished. The design was the brainchild of Mr. Brassington from James and Lister Lea, the leading pub construction firm in the area during that period. The pub was intended to serve as the crown jewel of the Mitchell's and brewery estate.
