The Bull & Dog
Previously known as the Black Bull, this historic establishment, dating back to 1689 as indicated by a date-stone embedded in its front wall, is reputed to possess the oldest existing bull-baiting pub sign in England. The pub has managed to preserve its traditional charm with low beamed ceilings and some original painted panelling. However, it has been modernized to a certain extent and now features a spacious open plan layout, albeit with limited seating. The venue is particularly popular on Friday and Saturday evenings when it hosts a lively disco, attracting a bustling crowd.
