In January 2022, the local pub was temporarily closed. However, thanks to the concerted efforts of the Parish Council, the establishment underwent a significant refurbishment and was successfully reopened in July 2022. Unfortunately, the pub no longer offers real ale, and the rear garden has been somewhat neglected. Punch, the pub's owner, has expressed intentions to sell the car park and the land behind the pub for potential development. Given that the pub has two entrances leading to the car park, this development is feasible. In a bid to preserve the pub's significance to the community, the Council has taken proactive steps. They have submitted an application for the pub to be recognized as an Asset of Community Value. This move is aimed at ensuring the pub's continued existence and its role as a vital community hub.
