Shakespeare's dark comedy explores corruption in high places, abuse of authority, legal-
ism, hypocracy, love and loyalty.  Incorporating intense relationship struggles, trickery and situational comedy; human nature is revealed as its weakest and strongest.

Following their sell-out show 'Shakespeare in Shoreditch' at the Hackney Empire for the Spice Festival and at The Old Blue Last for the Shoreditch Festival, Lights of London are presenting their first full Shakespeare production in two exciting spaces with evening performances at The Rose Bankside and matinees at the Old Blue Last adjacent to the site of the original Curtain Theatre, Shoreditch.  Press comments for Shakespeare in Shoreditch were as follows:
"Informative and enjoyable production.. with a well rehearsed and prepared company" The Shoreditch Map
"performed with energy and timing" Hackney Today
"an excellent way to dive into the great wealth of material.. all parts brilliantly played by the actors" Remote Goat ****
Lights of London Productions are  a professional theatre company based in Shoreditch, originally the home of Shakespearian theatre, and an ideal area to bring his plays alive and make them accessible to a popular modern audience.
Having recently established a pub theatre venue on Curtain Road, Lights of London are delighted to have the opportunity to perform at The Rose, Bankside in Will Shakespeare's other theatrical home on the South Bank, with a hand picked and bard-passionate cast of professional actors mostly drawn from local London boroughs.
