Eugène Ionesco's absurdist masterpiece 'Rhinoceros' follows washed-up alcoholic Berenger over the course of a single day in Molenbeek, a borough of Brussels in Belgium. Berenger battles with his conscience and reality as 'Rhinoceritis' sweeps across the town, turning his colleagues and friends - and eventually the entire town - into a stampeding horde of rhinoceroses.

Originally written as a commentary on Nazi occupation of France during the Second World War, the play is adapted to take aim at the radicalisation and sweeping political movements of the 21st century. Is 'Rhinoceritis' an epidemic disease? Or a viral political trend rampaging across the town?

Our adaptation of Ionesco's social commentary on group-think and mass hysteria is aimed at the modern day populist politicians - the Johnsons and Trumps of this century.
