Timon of Athens is Lock & Key Theatre’s first production. The setting is modern-day London, where our hero has inherited fortunes from his late father’s business empire. Squandering it on lavish parties and the company of society’s elite, who does Timon have to turn to when the money and the champagne stop flowing?
A tale of greed and creditors gone bad – Timon resonates with a world flooded with newspaper headlines and stories about credit, false expenses claims and the constant lending and borrowing of cold, hard cash.
Our production is a fast-paced adaptation of Shakespeare and Middleton’s play, encompassing the hedonism of the corporate world and the harshness of Jacobean wilderness.
