Strathclyde Theatre Group present Arthur Miller's great classic, where the Salem Witch Trials of 1692 show the horrors of 1950s McCarthyism in the USA. The Crucible is powered by the themes of mass hysteria, paranoia and the consequences of authoritarian control. At its heart is one man's struggle to com to terms with his own conscience as a community turns in on itself and begins to unravel.
