Double bill 4: Mountview Postgraduate Directors' season

Boston Marriage by David Mamet
Directed by Jane Moriarty

A vivacious comedy about two women at the turn of the 20th century who are in a "Boston Marriage" (a relationship between two women that may involve both physical and emotional intimacy).

Anna and Claire, two ladies of fashion, have been lovers. Now Claire arrives at Anna's abode with her profession of love for another and a boon to beg. An elaborate game between the two women, and Anna's floundering Scottish maid, is played out through quick, witty Victorian-era dialogue, mixed with double entendres and crude vernacular expressions.

Amidst favours, scandal, deception and pretence, their relationship takes some hilarious turns, all in the name of love.

This production is part of a double bill with The Maids.
