248 Work is a multidisciplinary studio/gallery space founded by artist Helen Brough and architect Emmett Roepke in North London. It is the sister space to their New York office. The 248 team is comprised of architects, artists and graphic designers producing conceptual architecture and contemporary art.
Helen Brough studied at the Chelsea School of Art and received the Prix de Rome Prize at the British School of Rome along with the Prince Charles Travel Scholarship. She has worked and lived as an artist in Rome, NYC and Omaha and has been awarded grants from the Soros Foundation, the Pollock/Krasner Foundation, Bemis Centre for Contemporary Art and the Triangle Arts Association. Brough is presently the creative director for 24/8 and also a board member of the Triangle Arts Association in New York.

Emmett Roepke received his architectural training from the Illinois Institute of Technology and has an M.A. in Architecture. During his early career in Chicago, he met Rem Koolhaas and had an awarding opportunity to work for OMA on the McCormack Tribune Campus Centre. He later ended up working for VOA where in 2000 he moved to New York to work on projects for Perkins & Will and Rockwell Group. In 2003, he started Pan-Cosmotecture, which specializes in architecture, art, graphics, media, and green technology.
