Designed to enhance and work with the university's cultural strategy the Centre delivers five major exhibitions each year, combined with other research projects, talks, events, seminars and film programme. The programme of exhibitions is informed initially by its computing and creative technologies activities, generating its own projects and enhancing existing University research. Relationships with external cultural organisations also inform part of the programme offering more traditional ways of working, allowing the programme to give recognition to a diverse range of visual practices.

Driving the core programme is digital culture, enriched by Abertay's world-leading success in the areas of computer games, digital media and computer arts. The Centre explores the processes of creative production through technology and how the space can facilitate new work and contextualise it within a wider cultural landscape. Research addresses the way digital technology develops art practice enabling artists to create innovative works and how a gallery can communicate this to an audience.

Projects are scheduled around a year in advance; working with artists based both nationally and internationally. Primarily artists and curators are invited to develop projects with the Centre and the University's Cultural Projects Officer in consultation with an active Cultural Development Team will develop this selection.

It is the centres aim to provide a cultural environment that not only presents new contemporary art but one that engages in the artistic process and provides a focal point for creative dissemination and knowledge transfer; widens participation both internally and externally; engages with new audiences, and extends its cultural provision.
