"We can work it out"

Can't help but mention Cosmo the dog who played Arthur, first of all. A five star performance from a lovable and well trained Jack Russell, who in the film, spends most of the time with Ewan McGregor. Being familiar with the films of Ewan McGregor, (Moulin Rouge, Velvet Goldmine, to name but a few) I can say another five star performance from this actor, who is extremely watchable, who's character portrayal of Oliver, shows great depth and understanding. His father is played by Christopher Plummer.

Christopher Plummer, plays a man, who having been married for forty four years, and following the death of his wife, comes out as gay for the first time. This character, Hal develops cancer and meets a much younger partner, who was also well cast. Melanie Laurent, plays Anna, a blonde young female who becomes the partner of Oliver. An attractive woman, who for most of the time, plays quite a happy character.

The film depicts issues surrounding homosexuality. It mentions that the first gay person was diagnosed as mentally ill, it follows a group getting together to discuss and write about such issues and it also depicts a partner of a deceased homosexual, who in the first instance was overlooked for getting sympathy.

The film also follows a relationship between Oliver and Anna, who move in together after having met a fancy dress party, a relationship which adds to the intrigue.
