"A very horny night out!"

The legendary cuckold, a man or woman who has been the unfortunate victim of adulterous behaviour by their beloved other halves, gets its own time in the spotlight in Robert Crighton's new play "The Cuckold's Fair".

It follows the week leading up to the fair in which various characters are cheated on, humiliated and seduced. Whilst the Historian's away, his wife will play with second cousin Roger; The mechanic's wife is finding herself decidedly attracted to the yummy sandwich delivery boy; a lady of wealth finds many riches in a bit of rough.
Deftly weaving in and out of all the intertwining stories, the audience are swept along for quite an exciting and at times rather raunchy ride. The strong cast (including a wonderfully engaging performance by Lucy Laing as The Blue Lady) all engage with the audience and tell their stories with panache, energy and colour.

It is very refreshing to see new writing of such high standard and a production that can make a space as difficult to perform in as The Baron's Court so appealing. Raunchy, racy and at times rather touching "The Cuckold's Fair" is an intelligent and sophisticated compilation of human transgression.
