About Sell a Door Theat...
Sell a Door Theatre Company is a new Liverpool based Theatre Group run by Artistic Director David Hutchinson with a creative team including artists Richard Adams, Phillip Rowntree and Robert Gilbert.

The Company has so far produced and performed a number of shows, the most recent including "The Secrets Inside" which went up this year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2008" and "Heart and Music" which premiered at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in September 2008. Other credits include "So Much to Say for Myself" at LIPA, 2008.

Our Aims as a company are:

To harbour and showcase new, innovative theatre that challenges society. We won't avoid the issues that matter, and want to use our theatre to speak up for those who otherwise don't have a voice in society.

To facilitate and aid education amongst the community bringing factual plays or even plays based on real events to light. We will embark on a number of after show talks and would be able to provide educational packs to companies or institutions, which might want to use our theatre as part of the curriculum.

To bring new audiences to the theatre. To reach out beyond the stereotypical theatregoer and attract a wide range of faces to our performances who will enjoy and gain something from the experience.

To effect our audiences and allow them food for thoughts on a number of contemporary and historical issues. We aim to ask more questions than give answer to, and to encourage healthy debate on the issues that matter.

To challenge the failings in our society. Theatre has been intertwined with politics for centuries and has acted as a platform for the people, forcing political and social reform. Theatre has not changed in that respect. Instead it has been given a new lease of life - Sell a Door Theatre Company.
