LONDON, UK - Before Sex and the City, there was Women of Manhattan. The Old Red Lion Theatre will host the UK premiere of WOMEN OF MANHATTAN, written by American playwright John Patrick Shanley, who's other works include Moonstruck (Academy Award) and Doubt (Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award, Drama Desk Award).

Directed by Sherrill Gow and produced by A Tasty Plan productions, the show centres around three girlfriends lamenting the fact that while their careers are flourishing, their emotional lives are a wreck. Touching on the universal themes of love, loss and getting laid, in a series of sharply written, subtly revealing scenes, their situations change.

Seemingly a light and charming piece of work, perfect for a 'girl's night out', the play can be brutally honest, revealing the fact that behind the gloss and high heels, the big city disappoints just as quickly as it rewards.
