Absurd Person Singular

Businessman Sidney Hopcroft hopes to impress his bank manager and architect friends by hosting a festive drinks party. But he hadn't counted on his house-proud wife Jane causing comical mayhem. It's a party to be remembered but for all the wrong reasons! More comic chaos ensues at each of the next two Christmas bashes as the other two couples take their turn at playing host. After too many gin-and-tonics and some farcical misunderstandings, it's the Hopcrofts who end up on top.

Full of classic farce and outrageous characters this is Ayckbourn at his best.

The all star cast includes Jane Horrocks, who is best loved for playing the hilariously ditsy 'Bubbles' in the hit comedy Absolutely Fabulous; Jenny Seagrove, recent star of Windsor and the West End's hit drama The Letter, and known to millions as barrister Jo Mills in BBC TV's most watched drama Judge John Deed; David Bamber, best known for playing Mr Collins in the acclaimed 1995 BBC adaptation Pride and Prejudice and currently starring to huge acclaim in BBC TV's Rome; Alan Davies, star of Jonathan Creek and regular panelist on QI; and Lia Williams who is one of the country's finest stage and screen actresses with Olivier, Tony and BAFTA nominations to her name.
