Full Pelt Theatre present Sisterson Foods. A brutally honest, poetic testimonial about a young man's struggle with mental health issues.
People always ask me, "What's it like inside your head?"'s easier if I show you. Using spoken-word poetry, home video footage and a hip-hop-inspired soundtrack, the show discusses all aspects of depression from suicide, panic attacks and how it can affect every relationship you have. The poetry acts as the narrative of a young man trying to reach out for help, unfortunately, he is unsure how to or too afraid and eventually takes his own life. Sisterson Foods is an exploration of life, love, loss and fear. Sylvia Plath to the sound of The Streets.

"A mixed media work framed by a piece of epic rap poetry... deeply personal but speaks to a wider audience." - Paul Vale, The Stage
Max Morton, Writer - Throughout my life I've found it quite difficult to be able to describe what it feels like to be depressed to others. I could never truly get my point across, there was never really the right word or phrase. With Sisterson Foods I hope we can reach out to anyone suffering, let them know they aren't alone and allow audiences to leave with a greater understanding of mental health issues.
"I am sure I am not alone in thinking that I know a lot of people who would benefit from seeing this performance as a way of beginning to accept and understand their own journey."
