"Seamed stockings, spies and dinner at the embassy: there's an unapologetic glamour to Sarah Sigal's one-person play, which trips through the highest social echelons of pre-war London...a little jewel of a period drama."

‘Mid-calf, navy blue day dress with pearl buttons by Victor Stiebel. Dove-grey tweed jacket and fox stole by House of Hartnell. Hat by Elsa Schiaparelli. Perfect for luncheons, jaunts around town and spying on fascists.’

London. 1936. Lady Pamela, Times fashion columnist and socialite, is recruited by MI5 to keep notes on Wallis Simpson and Edward VIII, suspected to be colluding with the German Embassy. But Pamela suddenly realises that what began as an adventure has led to a deadly struggle for power in a world in the shadow of war.

Sarah Sigal creates an intriguing film noir spy thriller, exploring the abdication crisis and the rise of fascism through the wit and grace of Lady Pamela More.

★★★★ The List
"Dunn's phenomenal acting skills still make for a strong and entertaining show, especially when combined with the fantastic writing. The parallels with the current political situation in Europe are obvious but subtly acknowledged, and a powerful, emotional conclusion very nicely wraps up an otherwise action-packed storyline."
