Following its recent, hugely successful Marlowe450 season in Canterbury, Fourth Monkey’s Two-Year Rep actor training company returns to London for its first ever Second Year Graduation Season. The Shizaru Season will be performed in repertory at Fourth Monkey’s current base, Jacksons Lane (www.jacksonslane.org.uk), from 22nd May to
7th June 2014 and will include a production of The Kitchen, by Arnold Wesker.
Love blossoms in the hothouse of a frenetic restaurant kitchen, where the intense demands of service dominate the lives of its employees. Directed by Mitch Mitchelson, who brings a wide range of experience to this physicalized and energised production that highlights the kitchen as a microcosm of our world.
The other two productions in the season are Vinegar Tom, by Caryl Churchill and directed by Simone Coxall, and The Ice Man, written and directed by Toby Clarke, presented as a double bill.
Based in London, multi-award nominated Fourth Monkey Theatre Company has evolved to become one of the most innovative actor training providers operating in the country today. The company offers a relevant, contemporary and forward-thinking training for actors across two courses of one or two years, with an emphasis on repertory theatre. Fourth Monkey has forged a viable path, subsequently followed by organisations such as the National Youth Theatre, for those looking for an alternative to traditional conservatoire training as a means of entering the industry.
