South Hill Park in association with Scene Productions presents
Joan Littlewood’s Musical Entertainment

A promenade performance, taking place within the beautiful, atmospheric rooms and grounds of South Hill Park

This community show draws together local writers, directors and performers to celebrate the play’s 50th anniversary and to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.

Built upon the songs that British soldiers sang during the war, this immersive production takes the audience on a satirical and deeply moving journey through an exciting variety of spaces. From the giddy revelry of the recruitment tent, through to an opulent military ballroom and down to the harrowing sights and smells of the trenches.

By Theatre Workshop, Charles Chilton, Gerry Raffles and members of the original case.

Title suggested by Ted Allen

Performances are Fri 11 to Sun 13 July then Thu 17 to Sun 20 July.
