by Nikolai Gogol
adapted by Howard Colyer

presented by Ballast Theatre
directed by Scott Le Crass

He wants to get married; and he doesn't want to get married - he doesn't know what to do. But he has a friend who knows what's best for everyone. Marriage is Gogol's absurd farce about desire, matchmakers, Imperial Russian speed dating and much else besides.

Howard Colyer is a playwright and novelist. His previous works include Flight (2014), Never Have I Seen Mount Fuji (2013), Mandrake (2013), Trojan Women (2013), Kafka v Kafka (2012), Finchley Road (2012), Homework (2011), Conference Call (2011) and The Overcoat (2011). His novels include Gregory Gun and Oldshaw, and he has also translated Kafka’s Letter to my Father.
