A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

by James Joyce

Produced by Leonie Scott-Matthews
Adapted and directed by Tom Neill
Performed by Emily Carmichael, Georgina Periam, Victoria Porter, Peter Saracen and Paul Taylor

Ireland at the end of the 19th Century. Political and religious hostilities are dividing a passionate population. Away from home and in unfamiliar surroundings, the young Stephen Dedalus starts to question his Catholic upbringing as he reaches towards a vaster spiritual and artistic existence.

The evocative imagery and searing power of Joyce's stream-of-consciousness novel are brought to the stage for the first time since publication.
