An enduring fantasy on class and the political system.

Vivacious, political and very timely, "Iolanthe" tells the comic tale of how the topsy-turvy world of Parliament is invaded by fairies in one of Gilbert & sullivan's most hilarious and absurdly sweet operettas.

Fairlyand is in a collision with the political establishment as a half-fairy Arcadian shepherd attempts to find true love with Phyllis, a woman who is ward of court to the Lod chancellor. As his fairy queen mother and aunts storm Westminster to make him a Member of Parliament, so he can win the girl, confusion and hilarity ensue.
