London 1913, and, driven by frustration and despair, militancy in the suffragette movement is at its height. Imprisoned for criminal acts but wanting publicity for their political cause, they go on hunger strike.

Trapped by the politics of the day, the shackles of a frustrating marriage and the rules inside Holloway Prison, Lady Celia Cain meets a young East End seamstress Eve Douglas, who falls in love with her. Is this how her life was meant to be? What would it take... What would it cost?
