HONK! is a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved tale The Ugly Duckling. This high-energy musical comedy is the first professional London production since it won the Olivier Award for Best Musical during its run at The National Theatre in 2000. With great production-values, music, choreography and performances, HONK! will delight every member of your family.

Spring has sprung in the Duckyard. Drake the Mallard Duck and his long-suffering partner Ida await the birth of a new brood, but the clutch seems to contain one inordinately large egg this year.
Sure enough, it cracks open to reveal an ugly chick nothing like his siblings, who makes a strange HONK sound instead of the expected quack. Ida warms to him though, and takes him out onto the lake. She discovers him to be a prodigious swimmer, but the other farmyard birds, including the rest of his family, ridicule him and drive him into the eager arms of the Tom Cat who invites him home for "dinner". Ugly escapes by the skin of his teeth, to the Cat's chagrin, but with night falling Ugly becomes lost...

Neil-Michael Marriott Productions is a new company which has the aim of providing a platform for the talent of tomorrow, and to bring theatre to areas where it would normally be inaccessible. The company has been created by actor Neil-Michael Marriott, who has a vision of creating West End-quality productions on the fringe; initially to reach out to the youth and communities of the wider London area, and eventually around the country.
NMP is delighted to be based at the Lost Theatre for this inaugural production.
