Double bill 2: Mountview Postgraduate Directors' season

It Felt Empty When the Heart Went At First But It Is Alright Now by Lucy Kirkwood.
Directed by Hannah Joss

Following conversations with ex and active sex workers, the exciting young playwright Lucy Kirkwood has created a tense drama following the plight of Dijana, a young Eastern European girl searching for the perfect life. Optimistically, she believes it is just around the corner. After being drawn in to the dark underbelly of the British sex industry she now knows just how much she is worth. Having to only service one more client to pay off Babac, her lover and pimp, she dreams of finding her long lost daughter in Brighton. Dijana's story will draw you in as you travel with her in search of her wonderland and end up somewhere far more chilling. Winner of the 2006 PMA Award, Lucy Kirkwood recently received excellent reception for Tinderbox at The Bush and Hedda at The Gate, Notting Hill.

This production is part of a double bill with Miss Julie.
