Panic, chaos, mayhem… welcome to the chalk circle.

Following their critically acclaimed production of A Doll's House, SpaceWorks continues its work reinterpreting old classics with a contemporary re-imagining of Bertolt Brecht's masterpiece, The Caucasian Chalk Circle.

The students are revolting and the Governor has been assassinated. The Governor's Wife, flees for her life and in her haste leaves behind her son and heir. When a simple maid rescues the child, she must decide how far she's prepared to go to keep him safe.

Elsewhere, an alcoholic former professor mistakenly harbours the fugitive Grand Duke and turns himself in to the authorities. With the land in chaos, the students make him judge and he seizes the opportunity to issue his own brand of justice.

When the Governor's Wife returns the two stories collide and the trial of the Chalk Circle commences to determine the fate of the child.
