We return to the Rose, Bankside, this Autumn with a production of Snoo Wilson's More Light (last performed at the Bush Theatre in 1973).

It's a madcap glimpse into Shakespeare, erotic astral travel and Christian theology.

'This is how it always begins....'
...

Giordano Bruno was burned as a heretic by the Catholic Church and still haunts the dreams of the Pope. Bruno escapes to a British heaven, governed by an eternal Queen Elizabeth. Can he escape the fires and consummate a mystical marriage with the Queen of Heaven in a new farce by the female Shakespeare?

A witty and satirical take on the works of Shakespeare, performed in the heart of London, a stone's throw from Shakespeare's Globe.
