The Mayans nearly got it right - in 2012 nuclear war has wiped the Capitalist world off the face of the earth. A fairly wealthy, dysfunctional Jewish family from New York is living in one of the few radiation-free places left - a post-modern soviet Russia run by evil Mafia. Food is scarc e, condoms scarcer. A sinister next door neighbour spies on them as they secretly plan their escape to Israel (a coincidentally also radiation-free place). This fast-moving, fish-out-of-water comedy by award-winning writer Julian Sims explores a family's will to survive and to return homeā€¦ wherever that may be.

"Fringe theatre at its best."
-- Michael Billington, The Guardian.

Julian Sims was a winner of the Thames TV Theatre Writers Bursary, which led to the production of his play 'True Colors' at Theatre 503. He was one of the original writers on C4's Bafta winning show 'Smack the Pony' and has also written for the 'Armstrong and Miller Show'. The play is directed by 'Time Out' and 'Peter Brook Empty Space' award-winning writer/director Michael Kingsbury whose work includes the critically acclaimed 'Ying Tong', 'States of the Shock' by Sam Shepard (BAC), and the hugely popular 'Round the Horneā€¦Revisited', which played in the West End for a year and a half and completed four sell-out number-one tours.
