Theatre Alba (Winner of a Three Weeks Editor’s Choice Award 2011) proudly present an exciting work from Clunie MacKenzie for the young and the young at heart: the ecologically themed Garden Of Delight. Her work has become integral to Alba’s output over the years and with this story, celebrates her 13th year of producing work with Theatre Alba.

Aimed at 4-10 year olds, the characters of Tumshie and Heather Belle lead the audience on a picturesque quest through the magical and quite beautiful Dr. Neil’s Garden. Along their journey they are accompanied by original music and songs from internationally renowned John Sampson (The Princess' Blankets – with Carole Ann Duffy)
As they wend their way with the audience to save the planet from destruction, Tumshie and Heather Belle meet many quirky characters to assist them along their way!

Journey back in time and join these magical creatures in their beautiful World and help them save it from destruction! A gentle interactive story taking place outdoors this is a family adventure with an ecological theme set against the stunning backdrop of Duddingston Kirk Manse Gardens.

In true Theatre Alba tradition, the production reunites many seasoned cast members alongside new talent to keep the show as fresh and dynamic as the day the company was conceived. As always tickets bought for these outdoor performances are subject to the weather and people are welcome to exchange their tickets for an alternative date if the performance is rained off, as rarely happens.

Previous praise for Clunie MacKenzie & Theatre Alba’s work:
‘...the cast, which with big smiles and unstoppable energy, present this imagined reality in a way which is almost believable, even in the eyes of adults.” -- Edfringe Review
