History in the Park

History in the Park will return to Craigtoun Country Park on 5th-7th June 2026! This annual event celebrates the last 2000 years of Scottish history and is free to attend.

Come along and see Historical Encampments demonstrating life in Scotland from the Romans, Vikings, Stuarts, Jacobites, the World Wars and more. Whether you are interested in learning more about heritage crafts, the daily lives of Scots throughout history, or just want to enjoy some battles reenactments, you will find Scotland's rich cultural heritage brought to life by dedicated reenactors.
Historic crafts, including blacksmithing, stone masonry, wood carving, grain milling, weaving, spinning, textile crafts, and cheese making, will be taking place throughout the weekend, as well as weapon displays and battle reenactments.

Meet craftspeople both historic and modern at our Traders Encampment where historical charities and traders will be offering further insight into the history of Fife and Scotland, as well as selling accurate historical replicas, gifts, and more.
