"smouldering, sexy, sensitive and soulful"
by Gary Bish on 20/08/10

I wasn't sure what to expect when i saw this amazing singer recently. Is it a show.. is it a gig? Well..it's both but with added thematic undertones - love, loss, grief, obsession... men are traitors and women love lustily here, yet there's a delicate soul lurking beneath the fire and passion and THAT is what holds the attention and intrigues the audience. One number where 'Lola gets what Lola wants' involves a man in the audience - Maria Tecce's innate playfulness was allowed out momentarily, and how we warmed to her throughout the evening! She figuratively shook us about, stroked our hair, then left us wanting more! Sensitive, smouldering ... a butterfly on fire!
